Michael Blight started American Tree and Stump Removal in 1992, and the company has continued to grow, now serving Fayetteville and Raleigh. Michael is a certified arborist, a distinction that is important when it comes to choosing who will handle your tree removal and care needs.

Michael takes pride in every job, doing the work as if for his own family, making sure his customer get great professional service that is unequaled.

Joseph “Jay” High
Certified Arborist

Jay took his first steps into the world of arboriculture in 2000. In just a few days on the job, he was certain that he had found what would be his life long career. From the very beginning, it was so much more than just a job. He simply wanted to be the best, not just at climbing and cutting trees, but more so in understanding the needs and desires of the customer. He wanted to know when his crew drove away from a project, that the customer was just as pleased with the end result as he was.

Jay joined our team in 2007, and the resume he brought with him was a wealth of knowledge, experience, and professionalism. Some of his more notable works before joining us were the 4 years of his career that he spent leading an emergency response team. For roughly six months of the year, Jay and his team would be dispatched to various places
around the country to aid in recovery efforts following hurricanes, tornadoes, and ice storms. High risk tree removal is one of Jay’s many specialties.

With his hands on, safety first approach, his extreme attention to detail, and an overall attitude that personifies “failure is not an option”, Jay leads, teaches, and supervises our crew through the majority of our projects to ensure the safety and well being of all parties involved. Customer satisfaction is his ultimate goal.
